April 14, 2024 - J. Reuter

Sarah Walter

Associate vice president for federal relations Sarah Walter will be the co-chair of the Energy Sciences Coalition (ESC), starting in May.  The ESC is a broad-based coalition of over 100 organizations representing research universities, scientific societies, higher education associations, industry and national laboratories committed to supporting and advancing the scientific research programs of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and in particular, the DOE Office of Science.  ESC is the leading advocacy organization for the DOE Office of Science in the nation.  As co-chair of the ESC, Sarah Walter will play a leading role in leading advocacy efforts on behalf of ESC members, representing Coalition priorities to policy leaders at DOE, in Congress, and the White House, and coordinating ESC planning and outreach activities.  This follows on Walter’s service last year as Chair of the Association of American Universities Council on Federal Relations.
