Community Relations and Community Service & Engagement

MSU facilitates student learning through meaningful internship, volunteer, and service projects that inspire learning and civic engagement.
MSU Community Liaison
MSU's Director of Community & Student Relations (CSR) reports jointly to Student Life and Engagement and Government Relations and co-directs the MSUvote democratic civic engagement initiative.  The CSR team has three core focus areas:  campus and community relations, acclimating and supporting students regarding off campus living and community assets, and the administration of the Michigan State University College Advising Corps.

MSU Vote
MSUvote is a non-partisan campus and community initiative, working to register Spartans, educating the community on candidates, issues, and electoral processes, and encouraging voter turnout in every election cycle.  MSUvote's website is a source of comprehensive information and democratic civic engagement resources.

Service Learning
MSU embraces service-learning and civic engagement as viable and vital methods of fulfilling MSU's land-grant to world-grant mission, and supports academic service-learning as a teaching pedagogy. 
Coffee with the Profs
One of the MSU Alumni Office’s long-standing featured offerings is the Coffee with the Profs series which highlights research and work done by some of MSU's finest faculty and staff. Be sure to look at the Archived Series for numerous offerings that go back to 2013.
