Mid-Michigan
As a research-intensive land-grant university, MSU is actively connected to communities throughout the globe. However, there is a special relationship between the university and the communities near our campus in mid-Michigan. The Office of Governmental Affairs serves as the university's liaison with these communities, connecting students, faculty, and staff with local officials, leaders of business and industry, and local residents providing assistance with regional and local issues. In an effort to yield further economic growth and development for the region, MSU is engaging with the community to find ways to spin off the research, innovation, and entrepreneurship coming from the university.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AT MSU
MSU Innovation integrates innovation, technology transfer, support for start-ups, and partnerships with businesses and communities. Co-located with East Lansing’s Technology Incubator and the MSU/East Lansing collaborative student incubator, the Hatch, MSU works with the local economic development community to bring ideas to the marketplace as rapidly as possible in order to improve quality of life.
